As part of its city logistics, CST is already implementing innovative solutions for the last mile before the tunnel goes into operation. One of them starts today in Zurich: the smart parcel box “Sal\u00fcBox” ensures a sustainable city logistics in urban centers. Sal\u00fcBox is a pilot project of the city of Zurich, accompanied by Cargo sous terrain as an implementation partner. It is intended to relieve cities and neighborhoods of increasing traffic: instead of parcel delivery services driving to their recipients individually, both private individuals and businesses can pick up or deposit orders – theft-proof, 24\/7 and without queuing – exchange items and, from spring 2023, also send parcels. Unlike other parcel boxes, the Sal\u00fcBox is open to all parcel service providers. Interested parties can register for use now via www.salubox.ch.<\/p>\n

Over the next few years, the pilot operation in residential areas and public transport stops will provide valuable insights into the extent to which the Sal\u00fcBox can shorten distances, reduce delivery traffic, strengthen neighborhoods and contribute to a high quality of life in the smart cities of tomorrow. The Zurich University of Applied Sciences ZHAW is providing scientific support and provide initial findings to be incorporated into the project during the pilot phase.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
